People's Choice Award Competition

One People's Choice Award Ribbon will be awarded - determined by public paper ballot vote.
(One vote per attendee.)

Prize for the Winner
True Woodcarving, WoodworkersWarehouse.com, Carving Magazine and Bavarian Chalet
Woodcarving Studio have each donated a prize for the winner.  (Additional prizes may be
available by time of show.)

Three Honorable Mention Ribbons will be awarded (ribbon only) for the three entries that get the
2nd, 3rd & 4th most number of votes.

One free entry per club member or per person if you have purchased a show table. Additional
entries cost $5.00. Entry Fees for non-members and persons without a show table are $5.00 for
each entry
.  Entry fees must be paid IN CASH at the award table on show day. Please
bring only $1 or $5 bills as we may not have change.  
(Entry Fee Proceeds are divided -
50% to the winner of the People's Choice Award and 50% to the Marshall County Council on
Aging.)

1. Carvings entered on the People's Choice Award table must be hand carved or power carved
by hand. (No "duplicated by machine" pieces are allowed).  
2. Carvings must be
your personal work, but carved with teacher assistance is allowed.
3. If you wish to have a title in front of your carving, cards will be provided.  You cannot display your
name - only the carving title.
4. Carvings should be suitable for children to view (no X-rated or adult content).
5. Carvings must be able to lay flat or stand alone on the table, or you are responsible for bringing
a display stand (for example - an ornament can be displayed with a hanger and a wall hanging
can be displayed on a slanted board or block.).
6. Carvings may have been entered in any previous competition anywhere, but past ribbons or
indication of winning is not allowed at the People's Choice Award Table.  You may display your
ribbons at your personal show table.
7.There will be NO categories for the People's Choice Award.  All types of carvings (in-the-round,
bark, chip, caricature, relief, woodburning, painted or not, etc.) are competing against each other.  
8. Your entry must be placed on the table by 10:00 AM and remain on the table until 2:45 PM.  
Winner will be announced at 2:30 PM or as soon as the votes are counted..

Basic Show Rules

Exhibitors selling carvings must have their own Tax Identification Number and are responsible for
collection and reporting of Indiana Sales Tax.

Displays should be set up by 8:30 AM and available to the public from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

You are encouraged to carve at the show - but you must use a tarp or drop-cloth.

You are responsible for clean-up at your table area.

No crafts, marquetry, collections, flea market items, or carvings produced by duplicating
equipment are allowed at the show.  Show officials may remove any objectionable items.

No food for sale EXCEPT where 100% of profits are donated to the Marshall County Council on
Aging. (Please bring a sack lunch or plan to go out for food during the show. Free Donuts and
coffee will be available in the morning before the show opens to the public, but meals are not
available.)

No animals inside the building (except for Service Animals for the handicapped).

No banners, signs or other materials may be attached to the walls without express consent from
the Marshall County Council on Aging.

Smoking and alcohol are not permitted on the premises.

Children are very welcome and should be supervised at all times.

Exhibitor agrees to hold harmless Good Time Woodcarvers Club, Council Oak Woodcarvers Club and
Marshall County Council On Aging from and against any and all claims for personal injuries, death,
damages, losses, and/or costs/other expenses in association with or connected to the show.
